Class Descriptions

Fundamentals (1 hour)

This ages 13+ class focuses on creating a solid foundation for capoeira. It focuses on basic attacks, defenses and movements. We cover basic conditioning drills and partner exercises to help learn not only about capoeira, but also to improve your overall physical agility, strength and mobility. Great for beginners, but also just as important for those with experience as well.

Mixed-Level Capoeira (1 hour)

Everyone of all experience levels and physical abilities are welcome to our mixed-level capoeira class for ages 13+. We tailor our class curriculum to the size of the group and the range of levels. In this way, we encourage an environment where everyone trains together as a community, learns together and learns from each other. We believe in teaching in progressions so that everyone will be challenged to their comfort level and abilities. Most classes cover fundamentals (basic movements, kicks, defenses, strikes) and partner drills. In addition, there could be topics on acrobatics, floreios (trans. flowery movements), strategy, music, dance, etc. There will always be something for everyone.

Free Park Session*

During the summers or when we have nice weather (let’s face it, we live in the PNW) we like to take the opportunity to host free outdoor classes. These are typically more open ended classes where anything could happen. We may cover more basics/intro topics, play with movement and floreios, or just have a roda the whole time. It all depends on who shows up. Keep an eye out for these to pop up on our instagram or facebook pages.
